SUMMIT, NJ – It came down to a double tiebreaker, but the Summit High School Girls Ice Hockey Team has captured its first-ever Morris Union Somerset Girls Ice Hockey League (MUSGIHL) title.
The Maroon and White and Kent Place School both finished with identical 5-0-2 records, with the first tiebreaker being the head-head matchup. Given that the two schools tied, the deadlock moved to the next tie-breaker which is head-to-head matchup with the next highest seed — in this case third-place Pingry.
The Hilltoppers beat Pingry and Big Blue tied Kent Place, making Summit the champs.
