Dear Summit Hockey players and families:
I am writing to let you know that on Tuesday I informed Athletic Director Dan Healy that I am stepping down as the hockey coach at SHS. Trust me, it was a difficult and emotional decision, but spending more time in the car than I do at the rink has just become too much.
I never imagined 28 years ago that I was embarking on an incredible journey. The opportunity to coach hundreds on wonderful young men and women has truly been a pleasure. I can’t say enough about how supportive and caring the parents and school community have been throughout the years. I am very fortunate to have so many of you as friends and that will never change. We are a family.
In retrospect, I am very proud of what we have accomplished over my 25 years as a head coach and couldn’t have done it without the 12 assistant coaches I have had at my side during that time. Thank you all for your support and dedication.
Sincerely,
Keith Nixon
