Summit H.S. Girls Ice Hockey Bounces Back from 'Beard Setback to Slam Westfield, 10-3

ROSELLE, NJ – Coming off a tough 2-1 defeat to Morristown-Beard — which dealt them their first defeat of the season — the Summit High School Girls Varsity Ice Hockey Team rebounded to thump Westfield 10-3 at the Warinanco Skating Center.

Junior Caroline Sharpe led the way for Summit with a three-goal Hat Trick and two assists, with senior Emily Sharpe notching four points (1G, 3A), while Taylor Cornell, freshman Elizabeth Puskar and junior Maisie Hiltabrand, sophomore Taylor Cornell and freshman Elizabeth Puskar all found the back of the net twice.

Sophomore Maddie Busam made 10 saves as the Maroon and White outshot the Blue Devils 47-13. Megan Raftery allowed 10 goals but also made an impressive 37 stops for Westfield, who were led offensively by Maddie Katz’s two goals.

Next up for Summit (3-1-1) is a December 17 trip to the Baker Rink to take on Princeton. Face-off is set for 6 p.m.
