ROSELLE, NJ – An 8-1 first-period will more-than-often do the trick, and Summit High School Girls Varsity Ice hockey Team jumped to just that lead versus Madison and went on to thrash the Dodgers, 10-2

A host of Hilltoppers found the back pf the net, including two-goal games from senior captain Emily Sharpe and juniors Maisie Hiltabrand and Caroline Sharpe.

Sophomores Taylor Cornell and Lily Rowe-Smith along with freshman Elizabeth Puskar and Lavinia Faria also all found the back of the net. For Smith-Rowe and Faria, it was the first Varsity goals of their Hilltopper careers.

Freshman Lily Spinner stopped 16 shots to get the ‘W’ as the Maroon and White outshot Madison 27-18.

Next up for Summit, now 10-5-2, is a February 7 contest versus Randolph at Warinanco. Face-off os set for 5:15 p.m.
