Summit H.S. Boys Hockey Ties West Essex, 1-1

WEST ORANGE, NJ – Senior Joe Galgano scored in the first period and sophomore goaltender Grant McCormack made 23 saves as the Summit High School Boys Varsity Hockey Team tied West Essex 1-1 at Codey Arena.

Galgano’s marker was assisted by classmate Olli Paasonen and gave the Hilltoppers a 1-0 lead at the end of one period of play, but that goal was matched by a second-period West Essex power play tally from Nick Trabb.

Neither team could get the winner the rest of the way.

Summit, 7-3-2 on the season, will next face Montclair Kimberly January 14 at the Warinanco Skating Center. Face-off is set for 6:35 p.m.
