ROSELLE, NJ – Junior Caroline Sharpe scored four times as the Summit High School Girls Ice Hockey Team skated past Westfield 8-1 at the Warinanco Skating Center and into the first-ever Union County Tournament Final.

Freshman Elizabeth Puskar had a three-goal Hat Trick for the Hilltoppers, who also got a tally from junior Maisie Hiltabrand as they upped their season mark to 9-2-2. Senior captains Lily Neilan and Emily Sharpe were feeling especially generous on the night, with each notching four assists.

Summit will play Oak Knoll in the tournament final January 24 at Warinanco. The Royals topped the Dragons of Kent Place School 2-1 in the other semifinal. The tournament championship will face-off at 5:45 p.m.

Against the Blue Devils, the Maroon and White took care of biz in the first period by netting five unanswered goals, getting three from Caroline Sharpe and a brace of scores from Puskar.

Summit outshot Westfield by a whopping margin of 54-16. Maddie Katz’s shorthanded goal was the only blemish on a near-perfect game from freshman Summit goaltender Lily Spinner, who had 15 saves.
