Seven-Goal First Catapults Summit H.S. Girls Ice Hockey Over Randolph, 11-6

ROSELLE, NJ – The Summit High School Girls Ice Hockey Team scored seven unanswered goals in the first period en route to an 11-6 victory over Randolph at the Warinanco Skating Center.

A quartet of Hilltoppers — senior Emily Sharpe, juniors Caroline Sharpe and Maisie Hiltabrand along with freshman Elizabeth Puskar — each scored a pair of goals to pace the Maroon and White.

Sophomore Maddie Busam had 15 saves in goal for The ‘Top. Busam’s classmates Taylor Cornell, Caroline Wesson and Hope Luckshire also all found the back as Summit improved to 8-2-2 on the season. Wesson’s goal was her first of the season while Luckshire’s tally was the first of her Varsity career.

Caroline Sharpe and Cornell also each notched a pair of assists.

Next up for Summit is a Union County Tournament semifinal game versus Westfield January 21 at Warinanco. Face-off is set for 4:45 p.m.
