ROSELLE, NJ – Senior Nikita Pryymak stopped all 16 shots he faced and classmate Jake Puskar’s first period goal proved to be the difference as the two-time defending State Champion Summit High School Boys Varsity Ice Hockey Team opened their 2019-20 season with a 2-0 victory over Westfield at the Warinanco Skating Center.

Hilltopper junior Greg Spitznagel added an empty-net goal with 59 seconds left in the contest to seal the win.

The tight, defensive oriented contest saw Puskar open the scoring with 25.3 seconds left in the first, assisted by junior Matt Vigliotta and Sptiznagel. The Maroon and White defense held the fort the rest of way.

Next up for Summit (1-0) is a road tilt at Glen Rock December 6. Face-off is set for 5:15 p.m.
