ROSELLE, NJ – Falling behind 4-1 after two periods and 5-1 early in the third, the Summit High School Girls Varsity Ice Hockey Team fought back with two goals in 29 seconds but, ultimately, could not close the gap any further and fell to Immaculate Heart Academy 5-3 at the Warninanco Skating Center.

Senior goaltender Julia Oppici had 24 saves between the pipes for Summit, who got two goals from freshman Leah Rubinshteyn and a single tally from classmate Taylor Cornell.

Nina Winborn had a three-goal Hat Trick for the Blue Eagles.

Summit, now 9-4, next faces neighbor rival — and currently undefeated at 13-0 — Chatham-Madison January 11 at Warinanco. The puck drops at 5:15 p.m.
