ROSELLE, NJ – Two goals each from senior captain Tom Pryymak and junior Greg Spitznagel sent the Summit High School Boys Varsity Ice Hockey Team to a 4-0 win over Governor Livingston at the Warinanco Skating Center and into the Union County Tournament Final.

There on January 25 — like a piece of vintage vinyl on a turntable that keeps skipping — Maroon and White and Blue will again collide as The ‘Top will take on Westfield at the Warinanco. Face-off is set for 6 p.m. Summit will be looking for its eighth Union County Tournament Title in the past 11 years.

Versus Governor Livingston, sophomore Grant McCormack stopped all 18 shots he faced to earn the shutout victory. The ‘Two Jakes’ — senior captain Jake Puskar and freshman Jake Lowry — each had a pair of assists on the night as Summit won its third game in a row and improved to 10-3-2 on the season.

Highlander goaltender Shane Cook had 39 saves as the Hilltoppers fired 43 shots on goal. Summit scored in the game’s first minute, took a 3-0 lead after the opening period, and never looked back.
