ROSELLE, NJ – Freshman netminder Grant McCormack came within one tick less than a minute of a shutout, and junior Joe Galgano scored his first Varsity Hilltopper goal as the Summit High School Boys Varsity Hockey Team defeated Livingston 5-1 at the Warinanco Skating Center.

Junior Jake Puskar had two goals and senior Greg Moller had a pair of assists for the Maroon and White. Junior Tom Pryymak and freshman Chris Magovern had the other Summit goals.

McCormack turned aside 11 shots as The ‘Top outshot the Lancers 27-12, who got their lone tally via an unassisted Max Solomon goal with 59 seconds left in the game.

Next up for Summit, now 10-3 on the season, is tough tilt against to-date undefeated Montclair Kimberley Academy at Clary Anderson Arena on January 10. The puck drops at 6:45 p.m.
