Rubinshteyn Has Five-Point Night as Summit H.S. Girls Ice Hockey Skates By Chatham, 8-2

BRIDGEWATER, NJ – Sophomore Leah Rubinshteyn had three goals and two assists, classmate Taylor Cornell netted two goals, as did junior Caroline Sharpe as the Summit High School Girls Ice Hockey Team defeated Chatham 8-2 at the Bridgewater Sports Arena.

Freshman goaltender Lily Spinner stopped 19 of 21 shots she faced as Hilltoppers improved to 6-1-1 on the season.

Summit, which outshot Chatham 35-21, broke the game open with three unanswered goals in the second period to take a 5-1 lead. The Maroon and White would then tack on three more in the final stanza to win going away.

Senior Emily Sharpe, junior Skye Gilbert and Cornell notched assists on the night.

Next up for Summit is a January 7 trip to the Gumbert Ice Rink to take on Westfield. The puck drops at 3:30 p.m.
